Family Leaves

A farewell brunch at Jane and Al's ended the
weekend. More than a few pounds of bacon and
several batches of pancakes prepared folks for
their journeys home. Leave taking was very
informal with folks filtering away according to their
own timetables, needs and wishes. In a way, that's
best for a family is nothing, if not dynamic.

Aunt Lois and Aunt Gert showed up at the farewell
brunch. This was wonderful in and of itself yet also
for the associations they inspire. The band of
sisters as the seven have sometimes been called
are noteworthy for their diversity and their
commitment to each other over the years. Seeing
one can be like seeing them all for they often were
experienced together on visits, reunions and
special outings.
