The Brian Luke Amirault Memorial Bursary
The Brian Amirault award will once again be given out this year. Brian Amirault was the Director of Hebron Residential Centre, for 20 years, until the time of his
death in 2004.
He was dedicated to his family, fitness and his work with youth in care. He was one of the pioneering spirits, and a beloved founder of the Nova Scotia Child
and Youth Care Workers Association. Brian travelled throughout the country, attending conferences and workshops, in his quest to learn more about the
professional care of his residents and staff. He was a happy individual, who was an energetic role model to those you knew him.
The Nova Scotia Child and Youth Care Workers Association will award one Youth Care Worker a bursary, in Brian Amirault’s name at the 2012 provincial
conference being held on May 3 & 4, 2012 at the Nova Scotia Community College Truro Campus. This will allow one Child and Youth Care Worker to attend
the conference at no cost.
This memorial bursary will include full registration fees, meals and overnight accommodations at the Nova Scotia Community College residence.
Applicants must submit:
- Active membership in the Nova Scotia Child and Youth Care Workers Association; and,
- attached letter of recommendation from a current supervisor
As well as a letter stating:
- Why you have chosen to work in the field of Child and youth Care;
- Why you would like to attend this conference
The NSCYCWA Selection Committee will make the final decision. Download this year's application form.
