Floyd Wiebe is the father of T.J. Wiebe, who was
brutally murdered on January 5th, 2003. As a
result of this horrific event, Floyd and his wife
Karen formed the TJ's Gift Foundation,
(
TJsGift.com), which provides financial
assistance to students participating in programs
that promote peer-led drug abuse education.
The foundation has raised just under $200,000
through its annual galas. As well, Floyd tells TJ's
story to thousands of school children every year,
encouraging them to make healthy choices. He
gave up his executive career in the printing
industry and is currently the Executive Director
of GAP - Gang Awareness for Parents,
(
GapManitoba.com).

Marie Christian is the program coordinator of Voices: Manitoba's Youth in
Care Network. She enjoys working with youth-in-care and alumni, and
helping them discover just how creative, thoughtful, and powerful they
can be!  Marie also enjoys meeting supportive adults, foster parents, and
group home staff, who advocate for a better system of care in Manitoba.
"It took me a long time to find my voice. Thankfully there were supportive
adults and inspiring peers who showed me how to speak up.  I am proud
to be one of those supportive adults now, here to help youth see the
power in sharing their thoughts and ideas."
